Listen, we aren’t getting any younger, and the truth is nothing is more important than taking care of your body. On my latest episode of Living Social, I interview Gentric, owner and operator of Flex-Able; a place that puts you first.

Stretching is always something most people tend not to focus on. Some will spend hours at the gym, but only take 10 minutes or no time at all to stretch! Doing stretches is extremely important when it comes to keeping your muscles flexible, strong and healthy. If you never stretch, your muscles shorten and therefore feel tight creating less of a range of motion and causing the muscles to become weak.

At Flex-Able, they use studied stretching techniques to relieve joint pain, reduce stress, and improve anyone’s athletic performance. Think of all the things you could do at ease if you could painlessly touch your toes? More benefits of their area targeting stretches include increasing your flexibility and range of motion, improving your posture, reducing or preventing joint/muscle pain, improving circulation, enhancing coordination and increasing relaxation. Sounds like a win-win to me!

When you first arrive to Flex-Able your body will be assessed to determine which muscles need the most attention. After that is identified, the Stretch Therapist will execute a series of stretches that specifically target those limitations. This process will force your muscles to relearn how to function optimally, reducing muscle imbalances, improper joint mobility and postural dysfunction.

After the process of retraining the muscles how they are supposed to move, they reassess to see if any other muscles have weakened or become overstretched. The stretches and movements then become more intricate to constantly improve the body and prevent any further injury. This can improve joint and muscle function, helping people stand, balance, walk, and climb stairs better.

The trained specialists at Flex-Able specialize in: Muscle-Strengthening Exercises, Coordination and Balance Exercises, Ambulation (walking) exercises, General conditioning exercises, and Transfer training.

Stretching on your own can only do so much, some of the most helpful stretching can only be done with the help of a Stretch Therapist. They inform you of proper stretching techniques to allow you to achieve a larger range of motion and overall increase your productivity. Did you know you are supposed to stretch every single day? Do you also know what kind of stretches you should be doing or how long you should be holding each stretch for? I didn’t either, which is exactly why making an appointment at Flex-Able should be at the top of your to do list.
